About Us

According to America’s Health Rankings, an annual report published by leading philanthropies and health groups, from 1991 to 2013 Kansas fell from the 8th to the 27th healthiest state in the country. At the Kansas Health Foundation, we want Kansas to be the healthiest, most productive, most livable state in the nation. Our mission is to improve the health of all Kansans. To achieve this, we promote health and wellness in our schools, neighborhoods and workplaces. Grow leaders in our communities. Inspire decision makers. Act as a voice for healthy public policy. And start and foster community philanthropy that will see our mission thrive for generations.

To guide our work in making a healthier Kansas a reality, the Foundation focuses its work in five primary areas::

  • Healthy Living
  • Public Health
  • Community Philanthropy
  • Health Data and Information
  • Civic Leadership
