State of Obesity Report 

For 13 years, the annual report, The State of Obesity (formerly F as in Fat) has raised awareness about the seriousness of the obesity epidemic, encouraged the creation of a national obesity prevention strategy and highlighted promising approaches for reversing the epidemic at the state and local level. In the most recent report, Kansas has the 7th highest obesity rate in the nation.

Kansans Support Cigarette Tax Increase 

In Kansas, the adult smoking rate is higher than the national smoking rate, and 16,300 high school students smoke. If current trends continue, 61,200 Kansas youth alive today will ultimately die from smoking.
