WICHITA, Kan. – Matt Allen will be completing his service as a board member for the Kansas Health Foundation (KHF) Board of Directors on June 30. Allen has served for nine years on the KHF Board, including serving as chair since 2019.
During his board service, Allen approved 97 grants totaling $125 million and held leadership roles on both the governance and finance committees and was KHF Board vice chair in 2018.
“We have been honored to have Matt Allen serve the Foundation for all these years,” said Jeffry Jack, KHF Board vice chair. “The Foundation has greatly benefitted from his interest in health philanthropy and his steadfast leadership. He has helped KHF progress through organizational changes, such as allowing the Foundation to engage in policy and lobbying and helping lead two national CEO search processes, including hiring Teresa Miller, KHF’s current president and CEO.”
In honor of his service, the Foundation will provide grants totaling $25,000, directed to the following organizations:
“Over the last nine years, it was made evident to me through the work of the Kansas Health Foundation that there was a direct correlation to the overall health of a community and the presence of high quality and informed civic leadership, healthy local community foundations and early childhood learning opportunities,” Allen said. “It is an honor and a real gift to be able to direct grants to these outstanding organizations to hopefully add a little water to seeds others planted.”
