Reggie Robinson, president and CEO of the Kansas Health Foundation (KHF), passed away on Sept. 19 after a recent illness. He joined KHF on Dec. 1, 2019.

From Matt Allen, KHF Board Chair:

On behalf of the Board and KHF Team, we are devastated with Reggie’s passing, and send our deepest condolences and prayers to Jane, Clare, Paige and Reggie’s many, many friends.

Reggie was an outstanding leader, and we knew we were in for something uniquely special when he became the Foundation’s president and CEO. His prior leadership experiences made such a positive impact on so many lives, and he enthusiastically took on transforming health for Kansans. Reggie had a wide cast of friends who spoke of him with great admiration and appreciation. It was clear, all of our lives were improved by knowing him.

Within only a few months of joining KHF, and through his calm leadership, Reggie helped guide and direct KHF’s COVID-19 response of more than $16 million. He was also helping the Board and staff envision how we could bring a greater focus to our work on race and health equity. This is a legacy we will carry forward.

When Reggie accepted the KHF appointment last year, he said, “This is the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a committed team and Board to make real and positive differences for Kansans.” For the entire KHF team, it was the opportunity of a lifetime to work with and learn from such an inspirational, deliberate and talented thought leader. We will miss his passion, his kindness and his grace. KHF will forever be a better organization because of his leadership.

More information about Reggie’s life and career can be found in this article from the Lawrence Journal-World. An obituary can be found here.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020. Digital viewing for the service will be available at sjevangelist.com/live.
