Christopher B. Power joined the Kansas Health Foundation in 2000 and currently serves as chief operating officer/vice president.

In this role, Power oversees the daily operations of the Foundation, including human resources, legal, information technology functions and facilities. He is the corporate secretary, and works closely with the president/CEO providing support and advice on board relations and educational opportunities related to board development.

Prior to serving as vice president of operations, Power also held the roles of vice president for administration, vice president for communication, director of communication and program officer. Under his direction of communication strategies, the Foundation received several Wilmer Shields Rich Awards for excellence in communication from the Council on Foundations.

Power earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication at Wichita State University. During his graduate study, Power taught public speaking and was a research associate for the Interdisciplinary Communication Research Institute at Wichita State University. He has published research in the areas of small group communication and leadership, received a top paper award from the National Communication Association and was recognized with a National Collegiate Communication Arts Award. Additionally, Power continues his involvement with his alma mater as a member of the Elliott School of Communication Advisory Board.
