Description

To address mental health issues such as trauma, toxic stress, and social connections and access to healthy foods for residents of Colby, Goodland Golden Plains, Sharon Springs, City of Herndon, St Francis and the Copeland Neighborhood. Great Plains Health Alliance focuses on increasing the number of residents who advocate for policy, systems, and environmental that relate to mental health, trauma, and other community issues that impede the quality of life. They have targeted increasing the number of parent circles and resident groups that are part of Strong and Resilient (Trauma-informed) schools or communities and are partnering with the Our Tomorrows Project to collect resident stories and data. The Community Liaisons are being trained as resilience coaches and are working with NKHEP counties to increase awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
