The Kansas Health Foundation is working to place equity at the heart of our work and striving to be intentional about identifying and working with organizations who share our values of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Beginning March 1, 2022, Kansas Health Foundation will not be releasing its annual open request for proposals opportunity known as the Impact & Capacity Grants (ICG) program. Instead, approximately $3 million dollars has been designated to create a Building Power and Equity Partnership program designed to strategically work with select community partners to build power and advance racial and health equity.

There is no open request for proposals for this program. Through partner and community conversations, KHF will extend an Invitation for Proposal to those working to address racial and health equity with a focus on:

• Communities with the greatest health disparities, including historically redlined communities
• Organizations led by and/or serving communities of color
• Organizations and communities focused on equitable policy outcomes
• Civic and community engagement within communities of color

Eligible organizations are Kansas nonprofits classified as:

• Tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code – sub-sections 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2)
• Government entity with a Federal Employer Identification number
• Church with a Group Ruling Letter
• Kansas Tribal Governments
• Organizations working with a fiscal sponsor
