WICHITA, Kan. – Chase Willhite has been promoted by the Kansas Health Foundation to the newly-created position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Willhite, who previously served as associate vice president, will be tasked with leading the internal structure, processes and systems that support KHF’s initiatives and community investments. His role will focus heavily on how to best execute the KHF strategic framework and integrate the different aspects of work within the organization.

“Throughout Chase’s career at KHF, he’s shown time and time again he’s willing to take on any challenge in service of achieving the desired goals and outcomes,” said Ed O’Malley, KHF President and CEO. “We believe his skills of project management and integration are needed in this new role as we look to maximize our impact and improve health in our state.”

In addition to the duties that come with the CSO position, Willhite will continue to oversee KHF’s marketing and communications functions.

“There’s tremendous potential for KHF to be a catalytic force in our state for improving the health of individuals, families and communities,” Willhite said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this new role and serve the organization’s desire to be more integrated, efficient and strategic.”

Willhite, a native of El Dorado, Kan., joined KHF in 2006 at the associate level. Since then, he’s held a variety of positions utilizing his background in public relations, marketing and corporate communications. His roles have also capitalized on his skills for project management, contract negotiation and vendor relations.

“At KHF, our purpose is empowering Kansas to lead the nation in health,” O’Malley said. “To be the nation’s best, we have to ensure every aspect of our organization is operating at its full capacity in the most impactful way possible. I have no doubt Chase can step into this role and make that dream a reality.”
