Southeast Kansas Regional Manager

Status: Permanent – Full Time

Location: Southeast Kansas

Reports to: Chief Strategy Officer

Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000 (aligned with experience and qualifications), plus an outstanding benefits package

The Opportunity

The Kansas Health Foundation is launching a new chapter in how it partners with communities across the state. Through its Regional Presence Initiative, the Foundation is establishing a dedicated regional presence to strengthen relationships, deepen understanding of local priorities, and accelerate progress toward healthier communities across Kansas.

The Southeast Kansas Regional Manager will play a key role in shaping this effort. Based in the Southeast Kansas and serving communities across Southeast Kansas, this individual will help build trusted relationships, connect diverse partners, and represent the Kansas Health Foundation in regional conversations that matter.

About the Role

The Southeast Kansas Regional Manager will serve as the Kansas Health Foundation’s primary regional presence in the Southeast Kansas region.

This individual will help build and sustain trusted relationships across civic, nonprofit, philanthropic, business, and public sectors. The Regional Manager will serve as a visible representative of KHF in regional conversations and as a bridge between local communities and the Foundation’s work.

The Regional Manager must be able to represent the Kansas Health Foundation with credibility, thoughtfulness, and professionalism in a wide range of community, civic, and public settings.

In this role, the Regional Manager will work closely with the President and CEO and Chief Strategy Officer of the Kansas Health Foundation to ensure regional insights inform statewide strategy and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community executives across nonprofit, civic, business, philanthropic, and public sectors.
  • Serve as a trusted connector and bridge-builder among organizations working to improve community health and well-being.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration and align efforts across regional partners.
  • Serve as a visible and respected ambassador for the Kansas Health Foundation throughout Southeast Kansas.
  • Represent KHF in regional conversations, coalitions, and community initiatives.
  • Ensure the Foundation maintains a strong and consistent presence within the region.
  • Develop deep understanding of the region’s opportunities, challenges, and emerging priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for KHF grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and impact investments.
  • Provide strategic insight to KHF about trends and developments shaping the region.
  • Convene partners and facilitate conversations that help communities move toward shared solutions.
  • Encourage cross-sector collaboration around issues that impact community health and opportunity.
  • Support initiatives that bring diverse voices to the table to strengthen community outcomes.
  • Help ensure KHF’s statewide initiatives remain informed by regional perspectives and lived community experience.
  • Work closely with Wichita-based KHF staff to align regional insights with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
  • Support the development and engagement of regional advisory networks that provide insight and strengthen partnerships.
  • Ensure regional efforts remain collaborative, responsive to local needs, and aligned with KHF’s mission.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Deep knowledge of Southeast Kansas communities and regional dynamics
  • Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships across sectors
  • Strong reputation and credibility within community or regional networks
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to represent an organization with professionalism and credibility in diverse public settings
  • Strong listening skills and ability to understand multiple perspectives

  • Commitment to advancing community health and opportunity in Kansas

Preferred

  • Experience convening partners and facilitating collaborative initiatives
  • Familiarity with public policy, community health systems, or regional economic and civic infrastructure

Location

The Regional Manager will be based in Southeast Kansas with regular engagement with communities across the broader Southeast Kansas region. The position will work out of a dedicated office space within the region short-term, and our intent is to eventually establish some type of office space to serve as regional home base for the Regional Manager.

Frequent travel throughout the region will be expected, along with regular engagement with KHF headquarters in Wichita.
