The Greater Wichita YMCA and Kansas Health Foundation announced a new three-year partnership today focused on delivering an integrated health and wellness model at scale to bring preventive health, connection and opportunity to a targeted 1 in 3 Kansans, or one million residents.
Wichita, Kan. – Deanna Van Hersh has been promoted to the title of vice president for programs at the Kansas Health Foundation.
Van Hersh has served in various roles with KHF since joining the organization in 1998. She had served as interim vice president for programs since October 2016.
“The vice president for programs position is critical to the long-term vision of our organization and the success of our grantees,” said Steve Coen, Kansas Health Foundation president and CEO. “Deanna has thrived in every position she’s held during her years at KHF, and she will provide tremendous leadership in overseeing our strategic grantmaking.”
In her new role, Van Hersh guides the program department and works with the executive team to operationalize the strategic direction from the board of directors.
“I view it as a privilege and a great responsibility to take on this role at KHF,” Van Hersh said. “We have the unique opportunity to listen to and collaborate with so many partners and stakeholders, and I look forward to leading this process moving forward.”
Among her previous roles at KHF, Van Hersh has served as program officer, director of program planning and evaluation, and as the associate vice president for programs.
She has also worked in the legal, property management and insurance industries.
Van Hersh received her Master of Science Degree in Leadership and Management from Friends University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Tabor College.
