Candace Malone joined the Kansas Health Foundation in 2019 and currently serves as community impact associate.
In her current role, Candace supports the organization’s community impact team by coordinating activities and monitoring systems that support relationship building and initiative launches. She also serves as the organization’s representative at many community-based events, helping to connect grassroots partners to the KHF mission.
Prior to joining KHF, Candace spent several years working at Child Start’s Child Care Resource and Referral Office. As a data specialist for Child Start, she provided technical assistance to childcare providers in multiple Kansas counties. Additionally, she managed the organizational database, worked closely with the local childcare licensing office on quality-of-care issues and acted as co-chair for an annual fundraising conference. Her position also allowed her to represent Child Start as part of a state task force geared towards promoting family-friendly environments for Kansas businesses and to work with state legislators during discussions on the importance of early education and funding issues.
A native of Oklahoma, Candace has lived in Wichita for more than 20 years. Outside of work, she stays active in her community, currently serving as a board member of the Fairmount Neighborhood Association, a board member of Flashpoint Youth Center and as a former member of the Kansas Animator Network Cohort for the Shocker Neighborhood Coalition. She also enjoys spending time with her family and leading the youth ministry at Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
