Janell Stang joined the Kansas Health Foundation in 2026 and serves as Partnership Manager.

Stang is the first person to hold this new position at KHF. Her duties will include serving as the primary day-to-day contact with for-profit corporate partners, translating partnership concepts into actionable work plans, and working with nonprofit partners benefiting from corporate partnerships.

Prior to KHF, Stang spent nearly nine years with Wichita State University’s Community Engagement Institute, where she most recently served as a Community Program Specialist. In this role, she supported statewide efforts to prevent substance misuse and suicide through the Kansas Prevention Collaborative (KPC) and led the planning for the annual Kansas Prevention Conference. Beyond conference planning, Stang supported coalition trainings and suicide prevention efforts at both the state and county level. For her, prevention is about people, working alongside partners who care deeply about their communities and each other.

She was actively involved in local suicide prevention efforts as a member of the Sedgwick County Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition. She has also held leadership positions for the Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) State Subcommittee under the Governor’s Behavioral Health Services Planning Council and was a member of the Kansas Governor’s Challenge to prevent suicide among the SMVF population.

Stang is a Licensed Master Social Worker, and holds two degrees from Newman University in Wichita, Kan., including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a Master of Social Work.

Outside of work, Stang enjoys gardening and other outdoor activities like hiking with her husband (Garret) and their dog (Sirius). She also loves crafting.
