The Kansas Health Foundation (KHF) has awarded the Multi-Agency Center (MAC) in Wichita a $150,000 grant to explore multiple funding opportunities to create a long-term public-private partnership to reach the community’s vision of functional zero homelessness.
WICHITA, Kan. – Mollie Carter and Rev. Claudia Bakely, who have served nine and six years respectively, recently completed their service as members of the Kansas Health Foundation (KHF) Board of Directors.
During her KHF board service, Carter approved 100 grants totaling more than $96 million and served on the Investment Committee, most recently as chair. Bakely approved 79 grants totaling more than $81 million and served on the Governance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and CEO Search Committee, which she chaired.
“It’s been a privilege to have both Mollie and Claudia serve on our board,” said Matt Allen, chair of the KHF Board of Directors. “Their experience, guidance and leadership have encouraged the Foundation to explore unique ways to improve health and health equity in Kansas. We are grateful for their stewardship of the KHF resources so we can continue working toward our mission to improve the health of all Kansans.”
In honor of Bakely and Carter’s service, the foundation will provide a $25,000 grant to an organization of their choice:
- Bakely has selected Sharon Lee Health Family Care Clinic, a Federally Qualified Community Health Center in Kansas City, to receive the grant. The grant will support its mission to provide health care and support services to all – including the medically indigent.
- Carter has designated Reaching Out from Within, a rehabilitation program for incarcerated individuals, as the recipient for her grant. The grant will help support programs for positive behavioral change and community integration.
