WICHITA, Kan. – The Kansas Health Foundation has announced the intended release of a new book in September 2025.

The book, tentatively titled Leading Health: How you and 30,000 Kansans help communities thrive, will expand on KHF’s vision for Kansas to lead the nation in health. Authored by KHF President and CEO Ed O’Malley, this book is intended to cast a vision for what Kansas could become, and to challenge individuals and organizations to find their part in this vision.

“I believe in the power of books,” O’Malley said. “In my mind, there’s no better way to share our vision for the future of our state, and to align our partners around a common goal.”

Bard Press, which only publishes one book per year, will serve as publishing partner for Leading Health.

“We have always published books that seek to make a big impact on a large group of people, and with Leading Health, we are leaning further into that desire than we ever have,” said Todd Sattersten, publisher at Bard Press. “Ed has cast a vision for improving the health outcomes of three million people in Kansas, and Ed believes, like we do, that books hold so much power to propel change in the world.”

Throughout the next year, more information will be shared about the book, its purpose and its content.

For now, we invite you to view a brief video announcement below.
